Compounds

This is a list of the compounds that will make up the Thrive universe. During the Microbe Stage the player will need to go out and actively collect compounds in order to survive. This is essential. They are currently randomly spawned in the environment, but will eventually be generated by bacteria.

To see how they will be implemented, see compound system.

Compound List

Current

Compound Color Function
ATP N/A Cannot be found in the environment, only produced via organelle processing. Powers cell functions as a store of energy.
Oxygen Light blue Found throughout the environment in compound clouds. Used in creation of energy via aerobic respiration and production of OxyToxy NT (a placeholder agent).
Glucose White Found throughout the environment in compound clouds. Created as an energy store in photosynthesis, used to produce ATP in aerobic respiration.
Amino acids Pink Does not spawn in the environment, but is released by cells upon death. Contributes to the production of Reproductase.
Ammonia Yellow Found throughout the environment in compound clouds. Produces amino acids.
Carbon dioxide Dark blue Found throughout the environment in compound clouds. A waste product of aerobic respiration, but can be used to produce glucose in photosynthesis.
Reproductase N/A Placeholder for full reproduction system. Cannot be found in the environment, only produced via organelle processing. Collecting enough reproductase allows a cell to undergo mitosis.
OxyToxy NT Red Placeholder for full agents system. Cannot be found in the environment, only produced via organelle processing. Produced by cells with a toxin vacuole to damage others.
